Texts Detail Broad Daylight Murder Plot

Prosecutors say the men behind the brazen daytime murder of a snow shoveling crew member on Centre Street organized the hit via text message. On Monday, the men charged in the Feb. 11 murder of 21-year-old Kenny Lamour both pleaded not guilty. A judge denied bail to Donte Henley, 24, of South Boston and Josiah Zachery, 18, of Hyde Park, according to the office of Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley. During Monday's arraignment, prosecutors argued that Lamour and Henley were working on a snow shoveling detail organized by Roca Inc. despite that organization's knowledge that the two were members of rival gangs.

Prosecutors: Fellow Snow Crew Member ‘Called in the Hit’

The Suffolk County District Attorney's office released key details Friday in their theory of how Kenny Lamour wound up shot dead on Centre Street two weeks ago. During the arraignment of Donte Henley, 24, of South Boston on a murder charge in the broad daylight killing on busy Centre Street, prosecutors argued Henley was working alongside Lamour doing community-service snow shoveling. Henley allegedly texted and called Josiash Zachery, 18, and told him to come to where the Roca Inc. crew was working, between Murray Circle and the Monument — and to bring a gun. Prosecutors claim Henley described what Lamour was wearing. "Mr. Henley called in the hit," Assistant District Attorney Ian Polumbaum told West Roxbury Municipal Court on Friday.
