Showcase Cinemas De Lux and Patriot Place Offer Pop-up Drive-In Movie Events This June

Showcase Cinemas de Lux, in partnership with Patriot Place, announce the launch of a new Pop-up Drive-in movie experience! As the community eagerly awaits the re-opening of their local movie theaters, Showcase Cinemas is taking the movie-going experience to a whole new level with this new Pop-up Drive-in at Showcase Cinema de Lux Patriot Place in Foxboro. With this new experience, movie lovers can enjoy screenings of fan-favorite films, along with their favorite movie theater concessions, all from the comfort and safety of their own car. The upcoming schedule for the Showcase Cinemas de Lux and Patriot Place Pop-up Drive-in includes: “Onward” (Friday, June 5); “Trolls World Tour” (Friday, June 12); and “Sonic the Hedgehog” (Friday, June 19). Tickets are $20 per auto and all shows will start at sunset (approximately 8:45 p.m.).

Bring your kids to enjoy a free evening of ice cream & snacks from Pimentel Market and the comedy/fantasty movie Enchanted on Saturday evening in Mozart Park. We'll also make crowns & slime before the show to keep kiddos busy.

Watch Party of Nite #2 of the first Democratic Debate!

Join your friends and neighbors at Wenham Street Cinema (23 Wenham St. JP) to watch the second night of the first Democratic debate on Thursday, June 27th. Doors will open at 8:00, the debate starts at 9:00. Please bring food or drink to share and your own chair as WSC is a theater in a garage. Harry Potter Trivia Night

Do you solemnly swear you are up to no good? If so, then your magical presence is requested to celebrate everyone’s favorite wizard on his birthday! Come join us at the Loring-Greenough House on July 31st at 7:30pm for some Harry Potter Trivia, a costume contest, and wickedly yummy treats that rival the Hogwarts Express Snack Trolley. This event takes place on two consecutive day: Saturday February 17th, 1:30pm – 4:30pm and Sunday February 18th, 1:30pm – 4:30pm

New Film Series at Loring-Greenough Kicks Off This Month

A new monthly film series, "Film Night @ the LGH," will be held at Jamaica Plain's historic Loring-Greenough House, kicking off Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, 7 pm, with a terrifying documentary, "My Amityville Horror. Child eyewitness Daniel Lutz recounts his version of the infamous Amityville haunting that terrified his family in 1975. The "My Amityville Horror" screening is sponsored by Jamaica Plain's The Meeting Point ("Social justice heals") www.themeetingpoint.org and a therapist from The Meeting Point will lead a discussion afterward about issues raised by the film.
