Matt O’Malley Energized About Next Opportunity, Reflects on City Council

After 11 years, Boston City Council President Pro Tempore and District 6 City Councilor Matt O'Malley is moving on from City Hall and is very excited about what the future brings. O'Malley spoke to Jamaica Plain News about his proudest accomplishments, unsung constituent services, and what's next for him. This is an edited version of the conversation.
Q: Tell us about your new job and what does it entail? O'Malley: I was named the Chief Sustainability Officer of Vicinity.


Crown Castle Employees Remove Invasive Species and More at Nira Rock

More than 32 Boston Crown Castle employees spent a recent day at Nira Rock in Jamaica Plain removing invasive species, weeding and cleaned up adjacent to the playground. On May 9th, Crown Castle hosted a day of service as part of its Connected by Good community parks initiative. Doubling its efforts from last year, Crown Castle identified 22 parks in 20 of the company’s largest markets. Employees spent the day planting, building, painting and improving public spaces. The company-wide program focuses on improving and enhancing parks across the country.
