Tenacity, Harvard Host Kids Day for 400+ Boston Youth
Designed to welcome and encourage Boston’s youth to learn about and enjoy the game of tennis, more than 400 Boston youth participated in Tenacity’s First Annual Kids Day
Held on August 15, kids spent the day viewing pro matches, engaging in a variety of on court games, participating in a Red Sox Showcase, and working through literacy programming weaved into the event. The impactful day catered to Boston’s youth participating in the Tenacity Summer Tennis & Reading Program as well as other urban tennis programs. Tenacity offers this program locally at English High School in Jamaica Plain. Tenacity’s Summer Tennis and Reading Program is offered every summer during July and August, serves nearly 5,000 Boston youth ages 6-16, and is held locally at 23 public parks across the city. This program is offered free-of-charge on summer weekday mornings and afternoons. During the program, each age group meets for a three-hour session where time is split between tennis/fitness and summer reading activities.
