Volunteers for tree maintenance project organized by Hyde Jackson Square Main Street

Smell of Fresh Mulch in the Air

Today Hyde Jackson Square Main Street coordinated 31 volunteers to spread fresh mulch on street trees along Centre Street between Jackson Square and Canary Square. Five yards of mulch were used and bags upon bags of trash were collected today. Hyde Jackson Square Main Street takes care of street trees 2 times per year with the next event happening in October.

Holiday Basket Makers Needed at Community Servings

MAKE HOLIDAY BASKETS FOR PEOPLE HOMEBOUND WITH LIFE-THREATENING ILLNESSES.  Community Servings ("CS") is a not-for-profit food and nutrition program, based in Jamaica Plain, providing services throughout Massachusetts to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. 93% of our clients are living in poverty.  CS gives our clients, their dependent families, and caregivers appealing, nutritious and medically appropriate home-delivered meals. Since 1990, the Community Servings Holiday Basket Program has brought warm clothes, basic necessities, and holiday gifts to clients of Community Servings and their families.

Help Mulch Street Trees and Plant Daffodil Bulbs

Volunteers needed for Saturday, October 25 beginning at 9:00 a.m., meet at Mozart Park. Help maintain street trees in Jackson and Hyde Squares by pulling up weeds and spreading fresh mulch.
