Workshop: Making Doors Work
In this class, we will look at up to four different kinds of doors and the problems that interfere with their proper functioning. Through a combination of hands-on and demonstration, you will learn to analyze and repair door problems, including making latches work and making doors close correctly. This workshop will be held at a member’s home, location to be determined. Cost is $75 for the public, $50 for Boston Building Resources members.

Workshop: Landscapes of the Streetcar Suburb
This workshop from Boston Building Resources and Historic New England will explore a historical overview of designs that were typical of yards and gardens in Boston’s residential neighborhoods in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. We will look at the types of paving, fencing, and plantings used from the 1870s through the 1930s, giving you an understanding of period elements for traditional landscapes.
