Thaddeus Hogarth/John Baboian Duo – Jazz/R&B (Eliot Schoolhouse Concerts)
June 20, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Free
Thaddeus Hogarth’s chromatic harmonica pays tribute to childhood influences from the soulful styles of Bill Withers and Sly Stone to the hypnotic grooves and sociopolitical commentary of early reggae. The feel is raw and organic with many of the defining sounds of the 70’s, amplified by John Baboian's guitar. Both teach at Berklee College of Music, and it’s a rare treat to hear them perform together.
Enjoy live music, outdoors in a creative, vibrant space. It’s part of the Eliot Schoolyard Concert Series, featuring music from jazz to R&B to folk and funk, harp to steel pan, every Sunday at 4 from now through September, curated by pianist/composer Brian Friedland (who initiated the series), Hoopla Productions (which has produced JP Porchfest), and Oompa & The Record Co. (which just re-opened its renovated recording studios in the South End).
Concertgoers must bring their own seating. Any public health guidelines then in place will be enforced. No dogs, please. The concerts are free. Your donations support the series.
