The Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the first of a series of meetings on Thursday to discuss upcoming improvements to the Parkman Playground in Jamaica Plain.
The very popular playground is located at 58 Wachusett St., and features a basketball court, a children’s playground, a Little League field and a softball field. It abuts the Forest Hills Cemetery and Roxbury Prep School, too.
The field portions of the playground were refurbished in 2016 and the current project includes proposed improvements to the playground, pavilion, entrances and perimeter. The construction budget is $1.4 million, according to the Parks and Recreation Department.
At the meeting there will be a brief presentation, and then community members will be able to offer input regarding the material presented and the design process.
The meeting will be at 6:30 pm and held at the Roxbury Prep School (86 Wachusett St.), which is just feet away from the Parkman Playground. For more info please call 617-961-3167.
