It looks like next fall's at-large Boston City Council election is going to be full of candidates. One candidate who will definitely be taken serious is Alejandra St. Guillen.

Alejandra St. Guillen is running for at-large Boston City Council in 2019.

St. Guillen has serious Bostonian cred, from being raised in Mission Hill, attending Boston Latin School and she currently lives in West Roxbury with her wife, their son and two rescue dogs.

According to her website, she is running, "...to address the growing income inequality and build cross-neighborhood partnerships that focus on improving equity in educational outcomes and the impacts of public safety practices."

Professionally speaking, St. Guillen's most recent job was as the director of Boston's Office for Immigrant Advancement, where she led the #toimmigrantswithlove public art project and the Greater Boston Immigrant Defense Fund.

Before that she worked as the director of ¿Oiste?, Latino Civic & Political Organization where she worked to provide economic justice and reform electoral public policy initiatives that impact statewide communities of color.

Her education experience includes being a public school teacher in New York City and Boston.
